Trek Choquequirao Inca 5 days

Dia 01: Cusco – Cachora – Cocamasana – Playa Rosalina

At 5.30 am we picked up from your hotel and local bus will take you to the village of Cachora. This trip of 4 hours will be the beginning of this great adventure. Cachora arrive at around 11 am and there we prepare for the walk by putting our backpacks and all the equipment on mules. After that, we walk for approximately 6 hours. We will stop to take a short lunch at a place called Capulioc. Then we walk towards the bridge Rosalina that is on the Apurimac River, which is situated 1500 meters above sea level. This is also the place where this first night camp.

Dia 02: Playa Rosalina – Choquequirao

We start with Rosalina bridge towards our next campsite called Sunchupata. As we advance along the path we will observe the vegetation and climate change. On this day ascend to 2900 meters above sea level. Lunch at Maranpata and continue the path until you reach Sunchupata.

Día 03: Choquequirao – Raqaypata

We start from Sunchupata and walk to Choquequirao. Once there we have the whole day to visit the archaeological complex. Then return Sunchupata where camp for the second straight night.

Dia 04: Raqaypata – Coca Masana

From Sunchupata return to the bridge of Rosalina. Going this route will visit a place where artisans produce brandy named ‘Cambrai’ (chicha cane) from sugar cane. We will stay in for lunch and Rosalina Bridge overnight.

Dia 05: Coca Masana – Cachora – Cusco

On this day we will walk from Bridge Rosalinas to Cachora. In Cachora a bus will be waiting to return to Cusco.
